This is another site that has a variety of primary documents in the form of pictures. This will be a great site to use for adding pictures to my
powerpoint presentation.

City of the Century
There is a picture on page 108 of the Blast Furnaces at Gary Works. It is a good image to show the size of just a part of the steel industry.
There is a train going by which looks so small compared to the furnaces.

Michael Jackson's home
This one is like a side-note one. Every time I search Gary, Indiana, something about Michael Jackson pops up now.
Here is a photo of his home in Gary which I can include in my powerpoint, since he was from there.

Local Audio and Music (Week 5)
Sound to Gary, Indiana song
This site provides just the audio for the song Gary, Indiana. The song was a part of the play "The Music Men". I can use this as an opener to my powerpoint.
I could have it playing on my title page as I introduce the project.

Gary, Indiana Lyrics
This site provides the lyrics to the song Gary, Indiana. Using this project in my classroom, I could pass out the lyrics to the students during my presentation.

YouTube video of "The Music Men"
This is a clip from the play "The Music Men" with the performance from the play. I will attach a link on my slide to show the YouTube clip during my presentation.

YouTube clip of Jackson 5 performing live in Gary
This is a clip of the young Jackson 5 performing in Gary. I will probably put a small section in my project about Michael Jackson due to the recent events.
The Jackson family was from Gary, and it is where they were 'discovered'. As shown on the media, Michael Jackson provides hope for a community that is of the minority and lower
socio-economic class.

United States Steel Hour Theme song
"The United States Steel Hour" was a TV show in 1953 to 1963. The TV series and radio series was sponsered by U.S. Steel. I can use this in my presentation while
showing a slideshow of pitctures, this could be playing in the background.

Local Video and Maps (Week 6)

**U.S. Steel Global**
This is from the U.S. Steel Site. It is a global representation of U.S. Steel. This will definitely enhance the economics portion of the project. The map shows
the steel mill as a global company. This highlights points of free trade and globalization. I will also include in my project how globalization has led to job loss
and unemployment in the Gary area.

**Historical Gary Map**
This is an historical map of Gary, Indiana from 1929. It is a great resource to use to show the industrial developments along the lake. It is also useful in
illustrating the grid planning that took place in order to build Gary's infrastructer. I will use this in the early part of my powerpoint presentation.

Colored Historical Map
This is another map from Gary in 1929, however it is colored and shows some more of the surrounding area, like Hobart, my hometown! I would use this map
along with the black and white map to go into more detail about the infrastructure of the area. I would use the black and white map first, then the colored one to
provide further information.

Central District Video
This video highlights the life and culture of African Americans in Gary, Indiana. The first main feature is the steel mill. The video explains how the steel mills
attracted many African Americans to Gary, which built a distinct culture. Other features are Vee-Jay records. They began in Gary and were the first company
to sign the Beatles. The video highlights the first African American mayor, Hatcher, who also was the first black mayor in Indiana. The video also mentions the
Jackson 5 and their beginnings in Gary. The video also highlights the downfall of Gary, which came with the closing of businesses that went elsewhere,
including overseas.

Gary Today- for visitors
This highlights the more positive things Gary has to offer today, such as the Railcats Stadium, which is really cool by the way! The video shows points
of interest for Gary. I would use this video in the section of my presentation over 'Gary Today'. This next video would show the decay of Gary as well. Gary Today However,
I would mute the music.
